Thank you enrolling your child with Infant Swimming Resource. The following Guidelines have been outlined and created to allow you to provide your child with the best and safest experience during his or her participation in ISR Lessons. Many of these Guidelines have been established based on 60+ years of research and experience. Thus, they exist to protect the health and well being of your child. Please review the following list carefully and address all questions to your instructor. THANK YOU!
Parent Resource Book -You will read in the PRB about the importance of your attitude and emotions for your child with regards to lessons. Please keep in mind that your child is constantly observing you and taking his or her emotional cues from you. Please maintain a positive, supportive attitude throughout your child’s ISR Lesson experience. If you are unable to remain upbeat poolside, then take a moment and walk away. If you have a question or a concern regarding lessons, please contact your instructor directly.
Diet is an important aspect of your child’s ISR Lesson Experience. Your child should not eat or drink within 2 hours of their lesson time slot. In addition, infants and toddlers should avoid apple & pear products throughout the duration of their ISR Lessons. They cause gas and bloating that will make the floating and swimming maneuvers practiced during ISR lessons more difficult and sometimes painful. Please review the Diet section of your ISR PRB for more information.
Two Forms of Protection - All children who are not potty trained must wear two of the following items: a reusable swim diaper like the ISR version delivered through the Pro Shop and another similar swim diaper or a disposable swim diaper underneath. This helps to eliminate fecal and urine contamination of the swimming pool and deck. If you don't have your ISR swim diaper yet, two other forms of protection can be used like a disposable swim diaper and plastic pants with elastic on all openings on top. Please have your child use the restroom at your home before coming to lessons as there may not be on-site restrooms available depending on the location.
**Please be prepared to take your diapers home with you in a bag. I am asking that no more diapers be put in our trash cans since I’ve had to fish them out often because they are thrown in open and get stuck to my can. You may think 1 diaper isn’t a big deal but on my side it can be 20 diapers for me. This will also help with keeping germs contained. Thank you!
For your child’s safety we require every parent to bring three (3) towels to each lesson. The use of three towels on the pool deck helps to reduce the risk of spreading communicable disease. Please read your PRB for more information regarding this protocol. Your instructor can also explain this necessity for you if you haven’t received your packet from ISR. The first towel is to protect your child on the deck, the second towel is to protect the deck from a fecal leak or to catch any spit up and the third for covering and drying your child. YOU MUST adhere to this rule or your child will not swim that day. No make-up lesson in this case.
Videotaping of Lessons is allowed once a week on Fridays.
Conduct: Please keep all children, not currently participating in lessons, seated quietly with you. Do not allow them in or near the water. It is distracting and unsafe to the instructor and student in the water if other children are running around or trying to play in the water.
Parking is available on the street or in the circle part of the driveway. Please do not park on the right portion of the driveway. When parking in the circle drive, please pull all the way over as far as you can toward the house so others can get around you. You may enter into the pool area from the right side gate on the property. Please try to come ahead of time to prepare for your lesson. PLEASE get your child ready for lessons at/in your car and come in ready to go a few mins before lessons. Only 1 adult per lesson time please.
Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19
The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of people. As a Certified ISR Instructor and owner of ISR Kids Float, I have put in place preventative measures to mitigate the risk of exposure to COVID-19, ISR has released guidance and additional safety measures I’ve implemented as additional layers of protection, and will continually update, as warranted, protocols, practices, and guidance in an effort to be as safe as possible; however, it would be impossible to guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not be exposed to COVID-19. By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, other program participants, and/or their families. I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren) or myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with my child(ren)’s attendance or participation (“Claims”). On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless both Tracy Falconer as well as ISR Kids Float, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in ISR Lessons.
